Spanish Villa 2: Guest
House
The Guest
House
was originally called the 'casita', the little house, and although not
quite a Spanish villa per se to begin with, it certainly does earn that
title now. It was originally used as a storage building plus
had
a rough and ready summer
kitchen (a typical thing in Spain) at one end of the main room.
We've
transformed it into a fully self-contained 2-bed,
1-bath building, with a
dedicated patio and sunshade, plus a large solarium
on top of the building, which is only for Guest House clients.
It has it's own charcoal barbeque,
and
shares the main entrance and car park.
From
the outside, it says 'Spain', although a
number of vacations in Morocco have inspired the
interior decor. Vacation ideas like native
lampshades and
rich ornate
curtains came from discoveries at Djemma el Fna, in Marrakech.
The
building is
split-level, with lounge/diner and bedroom on the lower level, and a
door leading to the lower patio, plus an internal stairwell up
to
the bathroom level, and an entry door that leads to the main carpark.
The
top deck solarium has steps leading up from the car park area.
It's nicely positioned for gentle
breezes during the heat of day and perfect for sundowners at dusk. A
cafe table with two
chairs and an umbrella are provided for your enjoyment.

Exterior

the
orchard; extensive shrubbery
at the front ensures privacy, as well as promoting the Mediterranean
feel of the accommodation (bougainvillea!)
Spanish villa now? We think you'd agree.

The patio
is reserved solely for the Guest
House, with
outdoor table and chairs, and bamboo sun shade.
To the left
(out of view) are a number of grape vines, which produce
prolific amounts of fruit in season (July-September).
The orange
trees in the background supply vast quantities of fruit
December through to March. |

Lounge/diner,
with gas hob, electric oven, extractor hood, sink/granite benchtops,
washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave.
Natural
light is provided all day long by a small atrium in the middle
of the ceiling.
It
has its own 26"
TV and DVD player.
Internet
access is available via a free WiFi service on the property.

Bedroom -
distinctly Moroccan style; deep
rich colours. Note: dedicated air-con.
The bedroom
is actually 2:1... the main double bed at one end, and two
bunk beds at the other; separated by exquisite curtains.
